The Green Tara embodies the incarnation of Avalokitesvara, also known as the Buddha’s mother. She represents various forms of Tara, including the 21 Tara and 500 Tara. All forms of Tara are considered incarnations of Avalokitesvara, and among them, the Green Tara holds the highest position, encompassing the essence and embodiment of all Taras.
Recognized as the Swift One Green Tara promptly responds to those who seek her assistance. Her divine attributes extend to aiding individuals facing eight different sources of affliction, such as the perils of lions, elephants, snakes, water, imprisonment, theft, and challenges deemed non-difficulties. Consequently, she is often referred to as the “mother who saves from eight difficulties.”
Furthermore, Green Tara is renowned as a great liberator, specializing in surmounting obstacles no matter their nature. Within the Buddhist pantheon, no other deity surpasses Tara in popularity. Her unparalleled ability to navigate the most arduous circumstances grants protection against peril and alleviates all forms of fear.
